Here is a beautiful rural hotel B/B situated on the banks of the Rio Grande which flows through the National Park of Sierra de las Nieves. At the moment it is used as a hotel / Bed & Breakfast. Its charming watermill was used for graining wheat as long ago as the 19th century; today the mill lies dormant and is used as the residence of the owners.
Let us take you on a tour around the premises: The hotel and the private house are separated from each other by a terrace and a beautiful garden. From the terrace at the pool you enter the spacious private terrace through an arched gate. A little wall with fountain blocks views from the hotel. On the left side of the terrace is a recently built storage space (27 m2). A stairway goes down alongside the hotel; on your left is a private entrance. On your right there is a garden laid out in terraces, with a little waterway going through (water supply from the Sierra de las Nieves).
A charming tool shed is situated on a level in the garden. You pass around the garden, down another pair of stairs to enter the watermill, the private house. Boulders taken from the river were used to construct the mill; walls are up to over a meter wide which gives wonderful isolation (cool in summer, warm in winter). All doors and windows are secured with the traditional Andalusian wrought iron grilles which enables you to leave everything open at all times There is also a data- and telephone network between bar, mill and hotel. All spaces are fitted with a mother key system.
The mills first space is a high and long dining room with 2 open fireplaces and a beamed ceiling, a 4.2 meter long almond wood table and 10 antique monastery chairs. The next space is a living room with a closed hearth; half of this space is 2 storeys high. From here French doors open to a semi circular cobble stoned terrace at the riverside. A water way passes underneath the dining room, drops down through three arched holes alongside this half round terrace and continues around it to the river. The two storeys high kitchen is the next space; it has an outer door, a fireplace and a skylight. There is an industrial sink on your right, left there are spacious granite topped storage cupboards and a 5 ring SMEG stove, oven and cooker hood. Connections for a dishwasher and a coffee maker and plenty power points are installed.

Both living room and kitchen have recently tiled (checked) floors. Upstairs is a bathroom (shower/toilet/wash basin) and a small bedroom with view to the river (and two fitted wardrobes). Both upstairs rooms have sky lights; bedroom and living are supplied with air-conditioning.
The hotel consists of an indoor glass roofed centre court (patio, Andalusian style) with small fountain, 6 en suite rooms and 2 storage rooms (could be changed into two extra guestrooms with shared bathroom) divided over two storeys. Completion will be including all needed for functioning; furniture, linen, plates and dishes, electric heaters etc. A great part of the inventory (e.g. chandeliers, all windows and gates) are antiques in good condition. There are terraces and a cozy bar/lounge.
The project is situated in a nature reserve directly at the Rio Grande riverbank. Malaga airport and the coast (Marbella) are at a 40 minute drive. Villages with a shopping mall, cinema (also original versions), first aid hospital and restaurants amongst many other things are at a 10 minute drive. At 100 meters there is a traditional Spanish restaurant. All roads are in good condition.
